Gimme ("Gimme," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at gimmeapp.xyz and the Gimme tee-time finding service (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and basic profile details needed to operate your account.
- Mobile phone number. If you choose to enable SMS alerts, we collect the mobile number you provide so we can text you when a tee time you are watching becomes available.
- Search and watch preferences. The courses, dates, times, party size, and price criteria you save so we can find and watch matching tee times for you.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is handled by Stripe. Card details are entered with Stripe directly and never pass through our servers. We keep only your subscription status and the Stripe identifiers needed to manage it.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data. Standard log information such as IP address, browser type, and interactions with the Service, used to keep it secure and reliable.
- Session recordings. To find and fix problems, we record a small, randomly sampled portion of browsing sessions, along with sessions in which an error occurs. These recordings mask text and form inputs and block images by default, so what you type is not captured.
Information we generate
- Search history. We store the searches you run and how our system interpreted them, so we can improve search quality and diagnose problems. Searches you make while signed in are associated with your account.
How we use your information
- To provide the core Service: searching tee sheets and watching them on your behalf.
- To send you account-related and transactional messages, including the tee-time alerts you opt in to receive.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions for paid plans.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
SMS / text messaging
SMS alerts are opt-in only. You enable them yourself from your account's Notification Preferences and provide your mobile number; we never add you to SMS without that explicit action. Messages are transactional — we text you only when a tee time matching a watch you created becomes available.
We do not share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information or SMS opt-in data is sold or shared with any third party for their own marketing. Phone numbers are used solely to deliver the alerts you requested.
Message frequency varies based on the watches you create. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by turning off SMS in your Notification Preferences. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at support@gimmeapp.xyz. Automated processing
When you type a search in your own words, we use an automated AI service (Claude, provided by Anthropic) to interpret it into search criteria such as course, date, time, and party size. We send the text of your search along with the context needed to interpret it, such as the current date, your time zone, and your general search area. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or account identifiers. Anthropic's privacy policy governs their handling of that data.
This processing only interprets what you asked for. It does not make decisions about you, and it has no bearing on your account standing, your eligibility for anything, or the prices you are shown.
Analytics and error monitoring
We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns on the Service, such as which pages are visited and how often. We use Sentry for error monitoring and performance diagnostics, which includes the sampled session recordings described above. Both are configured not to collect personal identifiers by default, and we remove email addresses and phone numbers from the page addresses they report.
We do not use advertising or ad-targeting networks. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not share your information for behavioral advertising or retargeting.
Payments
Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, which acts as our payment processor and handles card data under its own privacy policy. To start a subscription we pass Stripe your email address and an account reference so the subscription can be matched to your account. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as much as each needs to do its job on our behalf:
- Anthropic — AI interpretation of search queries.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and backend hosting.
- Vercel — website hosting and analytics.
- Sentry — error monitoring, diagnostics, and session recordings.
- Twilio — delivery of the SMS alerts you opt in to receive.
- Stripe — subscription payment processing.
- Upstash — rate limiting and caching, which involves processing IP addresses.
- MapTiler — map display. Loading a map sends your IP address and the area you are viewing to MapTiler.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Your choices
- Update or correct your account information from your account settings.
- Turn SMS alerts on or off at any time in Notification Preferences, or reply STOP.
- Request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
